Pinned specimens

These drying specimens will provide an archive of birdlife of Gorongosa in 2011 that will be available for many generations of scientists to study and learn from. The parasites and pathogens collected from the birds will provide a critical baseline with which future collections can be compared; these data are critical in understanding the spread of diseases.
