Red-faced Crimsonwing (Cryptospiza reichenowi)

Africa is home to a colorful diversity of small finches in the family Estrildidae. Most are birds of open habitats, but the Albertine Rift is home to four species of forest-based Estrildids in the genus Cryptospiza. This is Red-faced Crimsonwing Cryptospiza reichenovii.
